The best thing that has happened to me so far, besides going to China to study, is that I was able to join this competition called "留动中国" (liu dong zhong guo). Its this competition for foreign students that are currently studying in China. The competitors involved are from different universities all over China. My team mates and I represent Fujian Normal University. The universities in a province compete first for the elimination round at Wuyishan (武夷山). The competition not only involves physical tests, but also intellectual tests and it also involves both things. So there is so much more in this competition than brains.
So that's the basically what the competition is all about. Right now, my team mates and I are preparing for the upcoming competition. So far, our training only involved basketball, but starting this week, every Wednesday and Friday, we will be studying the Chinese culture with great in depth. I wonder how much I will be able to learn once we get started.
Let me tell you about our basketball practices for now. Since we were called to "forcibly" join the competition, we did nothing but play ball. From 2:30 pm till 5 pm. What we do, is that we pass the ball around, shoot the ball around and run around. Pretty descriptive huh? Nothing much to say because that's what we have been doing for the past few days.
At first my legs were like very sore from the strenuous exercises that we do, but I did notice a difference, I think. Although there was a difference on my legs, my stomach still feels the same, it is still big and it is not receding at all. I don't want to be a skinny big bellied freak, that would be frightening! I believed that doing sit ups would help flatten the belly, but many people say, including physical trainers, that doing sit ups do nothing. So, now I don't know what to do.
Going to end the post right here... (end of thinking capacity)
